The official soundtrack for Back to Black, the upcoming Amy Winehouse biopic, will cover a range of the late musician’s work and highlight her influential musical inspirations. Set to release on May 17, alongside the film, Back to Black: Songs From the Original Motion Picture will include 12 songs in its standard version.

From Winehouse’s debut album Frank, the soundtrack will feature three original recordings: “What Is It About Men,” “Stronger Than Me,” and “Know You Now.” Additionally, three songs from her final album, Back to Black, will be included: the title track, “Love Is a Losing Game,” and “Tears Dry on Their Own.”

Intermixed with Winehouse’s tracks are songs from Billie Holiday (“All of Me”), Minnie Riperton (“Les Fleurs”), Dinah Washington (“Mad About the Boy”), and Sarah Vaughan with Clifford Brown (“Embraceable You”). These artists will have their music strategically placed at pivotal moments in the film.

In collaboration with Warren Ellis, Nick Cave has composed the score for the Sam Taylor-Johnson film and contributed an original song to the soundtrack titled “Song for Amy.”

The deluxe edition of Back to Black: Songs From the Original Motion Picture expands the tracklist with 14 additional songs. Among them are some of Winehouse’s hits like “I Heard Love Is Blind,” “Fuck Me Pumps,” “(There Is) No Greater Love,” “Me & Mr. Jones,” “Rehab,” and a Live Lounge version of “Valerie.”

Added to the extended edition are tracks from Thelonious Monk, the Specials, Little Anthony & the Imperials, the Shangri-Las, Donny Hathaway, the Libertines, Tony Bennett, and Willie Nelson, among others. The album will be available digitally as well as in two-LP and two-CD formats.

Back to Black features Marisa Abela as Winehouse, along with Jack O’Connell, Lesley Manville, Eddie Marsan, and Juliet Cowan in supporting roles.
